Dave has enjoyed watching and performing physical comedy all his life. He began performing during his teenage years. His talent led to an opportunity to perform with an improvisation comedy company. He sharpened his talents over the years performing in a wide variety of festivals and parades. In 2005 he was hired by a minor league hockey team and developed ‘The Hockey Guy’. And a new sports comedy act was born.
Success followed and the concept expanded into ‘The Baseball Guy’, ‘The Artist Guy’ , ‘The Parade Guy’ and more. The concept of sport entertainment using a costumed comic fan-player character has been ecstatically received.
He played little league as a child. But, was never better than an average player… He loves the game and understands the drive and dreams of the minor league player. “I like to remind fans that they are watching future major league superstars! And that I could be a major league….. something or other“
“I love to entertain; I love to make people laugh. I love the way it’s make me feel, I love the way it makes the fans feel.” Dave’s hard work results in fan experiences that fill seats on game night. “These results make me proud to be part of a long standing tradition.”
“Sport fans want more that a good seat, high-quality concessions and a well played game. They want an emotional connection. They bond with an entertainment value that creates a fellowship and membership. “
The Baseball Guy interjects comic relief and enthusiasm that creates the “good times” atmosphere. He helps provide experiences that are remembered and build fan loyalty.
Even though comedy is his first love, He is also an accomplished information technology professional. His primary livelihood is from a traditional profession. Dave is employed as a Business Analyst where he enjoys working on complex computer and process problems. His work results in improvements enjoyed by businesses, employees and customers.
“Solving information technology problems is a lot like comedy…. First you break down the issues into simple commonly understood tasks. Then eliminate the waste, leaving an obvious best solution. Comedy also works by presenting commonly understood situations, then progressing to a ridiculous conclusion.”
Dave is married with 2 children and also enjoys camping, fishing and wood working. Originally from Ohio, now makes his home in upstate South Carolina.
